Windows 7 - Stuck on the Welcome Screen

Issue:

• After logging on, appears to be "stuck" on the Welcome screen

Resolution:

• If a user call to say their PC is stuck on the Windows Welcome screen for a while;

1.  
   1. Ensure the user has waited at least 5 mins for updates to install
   2. Have user do a hard reboot
   3. Select Start Windows Normally
   4. You RDP into the workstation (this seems to break “the hold” ).
   5. Log off and have the user log on.
