Mimecast Email Service

Mimecast Email Service

   (see attached for detailed instructions)

What is happening?

We are excited to announce an upgrade to our existing email SPAM, Encryption, Large File Transfer, Archiving, and Continuity services on 1/11/2016. The new services system is the first step of North Island Credit Union’s effort to take advantage of cloud computing. The new e-mail service, known as Mimecast, will provide:

  • Improved uptime to email
  • Email Encryption which will replace Barracuda Encryption
  • Send and receive large files from members (i.e. loan docs)
  • Manage your own SPAM and release messages tagged as SPAM emails without contacting the IT department
  • Search you archived emails from within Outlook MimeCast Plugin

What can I expect to see during this transition?

We will be removing the Barracuda Outlook plugin and installing the Mimecast application on all systems. Please see instructions below on how to log into Mimecast and be sure to review all of the training videos on our IT Intranet page. They can be accessed here.

Once Mimecast is installed the first time you open Outlook you will see the popup below.

Click on the Mimecast ribbon and then choose Account Options.

Click Set Credentials for Domain Authentication.

Enter your Windows password and click Login. Once Authentication is successful click OK and you will see the Mimecast ribbon populate with all of the tools you reviewed in the training videos.

Thank you in advance for your help in making the transition to Mimecast. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact the Help Desk for assistance.
