Unlocking
Instructions:
- Login with Helpdesk credentials (in KeePass).
- Complete the security questions
From the Main Menu
- Click on SETUP
- Select USERS from the dropdown
NOTE: You can use any of the Filter Options at the top of the screen to locate the user you are looking for.
If you believe the user has been Locked Out, select the Yes radio button to include locked users in your search.
- The Reset Password link is located in the Actions Column next to the Login of the user you are trying to reset.
Clicking Reset Password will email the end user a link to reset their password (no temp password, just a link).
New Users
If you receive a call from a user that just went thru class trying to get into MeridianLink but are having issue (password expired, need password reset, etc.), you will need to set their password
- Log into MeridianLink
- Go to User and find your User
- Enter their temp password – Password1234
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save
Ensure the account is not Locked. Also, you do not need to change Must Set Password, leave as No
The system will not ask them the challenge questions until they log off and log on the second time.
Security Question Loop
Another trouble-shooting tip: If the end user receives a set of two security questions after they’ve entered their login, instead of the password prompt, chances are they have entered their login incorrectly. This is a security feature. They will never get the security questions correct, they will stay in a never-ending loop of questions.
When they are stuck in the security question loop they need to cancel that screen and re-enter their login correctly. Sometimes a password will need to be reset or MFL un-enrolled, but generally we have found that the login is being mis-typed.
User Forgets Answers to Security Questions
- Click on the login of the locked user
- Change the Is Locked? radio button to NO
- Make sure you scroll to the bottom of the page and hit SAVE
- Back on the screen listing users, in the MFL Enrolled? column you should see Y Unenrolled - Click on the Unenrolled. The User will need recreate their picture, phrase and challenge questions
User Account Will Not Unlock
If the user is locked out, you may need to Un-enroll them from MFL forcing them to go through the set up process again.
- Click on the login of the locked user
- Change the Is Locked? radio button to NO
- Make sure you scroll to the bottom of the page and hit SAVE
