VidCenter Install and Configuration Instructions

Install Vid-Center

Request Security Team put the PC in Bit9 Medium level for install.

MUST have Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Native Client (sqlncli_x86 or x64 depending on system) installed from: \\helpdeskstor\General\VidCenter

For SQL Server Native Client SDK, select “Will be installed on local harddrive”

Vid-Center Manual install from the Disc folder

Right-click Vid-Center_Setup_6.6.2.32382 and run as Admin

(“ClickOnce” instructions are available in the Tech Notes: \\helpdeskstor\General\VidCenter\Disc\Documentation\Tech Notes - TN533 Using ClickOnce to Deploy Vid-Center.pdf however they would need to be configured for the Database location)

Create new VidCenter folder in c:\temp folder

 

1. Prepare Database

File \ Database Manager

Type in c:\temp\VidCenter and click on Create New button

                       

 

Then name the database the users’ first initial lastname (nospace)

 

Click OK

1. Add DVRs

Click Open DVR Manager or go to File \ DVR Manager

 

Click Add DVR

Highlight the Name field and rename New DVR to DRV1 Server Room

Highlight Connection String: 10.20.6.17

Time Zone: (GMT-08:08) Pacific Time US

 

Do this for DVR2 Server Room

Connection String: 10.20.6.18

Time Zone: (GMT-08:08) Pacific Time US

 

DVR3 Server Room

Connection String: 10.20.6.19

Time Zone: (GMT-08:08) Pacific Time US

 

El Cajon

File\ DVR Manager\Add DVR

Connection String: 172.16.15.200

Time Zone: (GMT-08:08) Pacific Time US

 

Continue for any other branches that need to be setup

Click DONE

Check the box: Domain networks, such as a workplace network and click Allow access

 

 

Click Allow Access, enter either Admin or User logon (in KeePass)

Debbie Williams is the only one that gets the Branches only and User setup install
