Issue:
- Images in emails displaying as Red X
Resolution:
- Outlook prevents the automatic download of pictures in email messages as a security measure to help prevent possible spamming. It permits images from sites in your Trusted Zone to show but blocks all others.

Click Start, click Run type regedit.exe, and then press ENTER.
(If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.) -
Locate registry subkey:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security

In the right side window, double-click OutlookSecureTempFolder. Verify whether the folder noted is valid. You can copy and paste the folder path in Windows Explorer to verify this.

- If you do not see the OutlookSecureTempFolder entry, go to the next step.
- If the folder does not exist on your computer, change the OutlookSecureTempFolder value to a valid folder path, for example C:\temp0\.

If the OutlookSecureTempFolder registry entry does not exist, you must create it manually. To do this, follow these steps
- Right-click an empty area, point to New, and then click String Value.
- Double-click OutlookSecureTempFolder, and then enter a valid folder path, for example C:\temp0\.

- If it is a cautious user (should not be for everyone)

- Open Outlook 2010.
- Go to the Ribbon and select File\Options.
- In the left pane, select Trust Center.
- Click the Trust Center Settings button
- Select Automatic Download from the left pane.
- Uncheck the Don’t download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail messages or RSS items checkbox.
- Click OK.
- Uncheck the Don’t download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail messages or RSS items checkbox.

Click OK.

Click OK to close the Outlook Options window
