North Island Credit Union’s Guest Wireless Access
Disclaimer: This connection is unencrypted and users of this connection should encrypt their own information if it is of a sensitive nature (e.g. by using a VPN connection or manually). If using VPN and outside internet connectivity is confirmed please refer any connection support issue to the vendor’s technical support desk.
Access your Windows Wireless Network configuration. Click “Add” to have the “Wireless network properties” window appear.
Configure the SSID to be “NICU_Guest” (Case Sensitive). Check the box for “Connect even if this network is not broadcasting.” Select Network Authentication to be “Open” and Data Encryption to be “Disabled”. Click the “Ok” button.
2. The “NICU_Guest” wireless network should appear in the Preferred networks box. Next click on the “View Wireless Networks” button (pictured in step 1).
3. The Wireless Network Connection window will appear. Click on the “Refresh network list” on the left hand margin. Our “NICU_Guest” should appear and connect automatically.
4. Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer. The first time you try to navigate to an outside website the browser should redirect to and internal page. If you receive and prompt concerning the security certificate please click “Ok” or Accept when prompted.
5. Once you agree to the certificate prompt and any popup blocker notices the following page should appear. (Pop-Ups for should be temporarily be allowed for this internal web page)
6. Please enter the “User Name” and “Password” provided by a member of the ITS Information Security & Server Management team.
7. Once authenticated please keep the popup window up or save the link of https://1.1.1.1/logout.html available so the users can logoff of the guest wireless when complete at the end of the business day.
